Thanks to the brilliantly hot weather we are facing in Delhi at the moment, my makeup kit has reduced in size. I’ve recently found myself using lighter makeup products and tools on my face to match with the weather outside. I’m all about keeping it low key at the moment – no base/light base, just a hint of concealer, some blush and just a bit of a light floral perfume. So take a look below to read about some of my favourite makeup items this month –

Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Custard (Medium 1)

During the summer I tend to skip out on the foundation a lot as it feels to heavy on my skin. However, if you still feel you need a light cover up, go ahead and invest in a good BB/CC cream or a lightweight foundation. Although, I feel just a tad bit of a concealer proving a decent amount of coverage applied in the right areas should be enough. I love the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer and I use it under my eyes to make the under eye area appear brighter and to cover up any basic blemishes. I pick up mine every time I travel abroad. It’s lightweight and gives medium level coverage.

Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot (6)

After applying the concealer in the right spots, I dust just a bit of the Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot on to my cheeks to add a little colour to my skin. What I like about it is that the pigment is quite strong and you just need a little bit to do the job. In other words, a little goes a long way with this one! Additionaly, it’s not as powdery as most regular powder blushes so it looks like a creamy blush when applied.

Chanel Vitalumiere Loose Powder Foundation (No. 10)

After all of the above, I just dust a little bit of the loose powder foundation from Chanel on to my face to set the base. It adds a luminescent glow without appearing cakey/powdery on the skin and keeps the concealer and the blush from moving off the face. However, dust lightly so as to not erase the blush. I usually pick up my powder when I travel but I’m sure you can find it at a Chanel store in the mall closest to you.

Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder in Bronze Glow

Of course, a nice summery look isn’t complete without just a smattering of highlighter. I usually take a little bit of the Bobbi Brown Highlighting Powder on my brush and run it over the top of my cheekbones, on my nose, centre of the forehead and just a tad bit under the high points of my eyebrows. Voila! My summer face base is now ready.

MAC Kajal in Squid and Eye Brow Pencil in Spiked

MAC is my favourite brand when it comes to eye pencils. They’re both super soft and smooth when it comes to application. I personally don’t like pencils that I have to sharpen cause not only does the tip keep breaking but they also keep poking me in the eye. The kajal from MAC is a beautiful black colour and the eyebrow pencil is a deep brown that works perfectly to fill in my eye brows. Narciso Rodriguez Perfume

The newest launch from Narciso Rodriguez is an absolute stunner. This lightly fragrant EDP is very elegant in terms of its features. I like how it has really subtle notes as to not make it overpowering. It’s perfect for all seasons, but more so for heavy summer when even a strong smell can be really irritating to the senses. You can probably find this one at any good perfume store across the country.

Nykaa Matte Nail paints in Pink Ruffle (152) and Very Vanilla (156)

I usually skip out on lipstick during the day to keep my face looking/feeling light. But never my nail paint! I love the Nykaa Matte Nail paints, especially the ones in nude/pastel shades as they’re perfect for the summer. They take a while to chip off but dry out post application super quickly. Love love love these shades!
