Valentine’s Day Look
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. But just because it’s the season of love, it doesn’t mean that you can only enjoy it if you have a significant other with whom you can share the day! I firmly believe that self – love comes before loving someone else and if you can’t love yourself, you certainly can’t love someone else. So enjoy this day, just for yourself; dress up in your best outfit just to make yourself happy and indulge in treats and presents that make your day! Pack a bag and go spend a night at a fancy hotel with a great spa. Buy yourself something nice, just cause you like it. Trust me, the feeling of paying for your own fancy indulgences can be quite empowering. You know what’s even better? Devote some of your time to your precious family and your parents. They need you more than you realise it.
This year for Valentine’s Day, I’ve decided to spend my time shopping and spending some quality time with my family. Over the years I’ve realised that at some point of time, we start to take our family for granted and all those game nights, movie Sundays and family dinners are more or less forgotten. It’s only now that I think back on those days that I realise how much they contributed to my happy childhood. Those long drives to India Gate with my tired – from – work dad just cause I wanted to go for a boat ride, or the n number of mornings that I’ve ruined for my mother by making her chase my school bus are things that I had forgotten along the way. The sacrifices our families make for us are endless and you know what the best part is? They never ever complain. All they ask for in return – some time and just a little bit of love. So this year, I’m going to play make up with my mum and go for a movie with my dad and just hang out with my brother cause I love them and I will take this occasion to remind myself that love is something you should express everyday and all day. Valentine’s Day might be something that’s been created by corporates intended on making us spend money uselessly, but the positive side of the situation is that every year, there is that one day, where we remember how important it is to love those who are around us and to remind us that if we can make one day special for ourselves and for others around us, how good would it be to be like this everyday.
Moral of the story? Love yourself and give love to everyone around you. You don’t know the difference it makes to the lives of those who receive your love.
This V-day, I’ve decided to stick to my favourite classic kind of look which of course includes a Midi skirt! I didn’t want to do a clichéd ‘red’ look. Never been the type to follow clichés anyway. So I wore something that comes naturally to me 🙂 Take a look and do share your thoughts –
