|Monochrome Monsoon|

Hey you guys!

First of all, thank you all so much for your loving and kind words on my previous posts. You guys really inspire me to work harder everyday and to come up with more interesting ideas. I hope to keep posting more useful stuff for you all so keep me updated with all that you want to read!

This post wasn’t planned as a monsoon post in particular. I really wanted to shoot this lovely outfit (StalkBuyLove.com) for you guys and it started to rain in the morning right as I was about to set out to do the same. Hence I made use of my umbrella as a prop!

Wearing monochrome (same colour or colour tones) can be quite the daunting task for most of us. It can tend to look too boring or even too plain. To be honest, I’m quite the fan of monochrome. I love how wearing the same colour co-ordinates adds length to my look and I feel that if styled well, this look can be a timeless classic.

So what is the key to ensuring a perfectly styled look? Well the answer is – Good tailoring.

Ensure that all your garments are well tailored to suit your body. A day spent with your local tailor on the outfit is bound to do you lots of good.

Additionally, you can try and mix different fabrics as the different textures add variety despite the matching colours. Stick to one or two matching accessories like in my pictures to ensure that the look is not overkill.

Although I am wearing gold sandals here cause I wanted to stay in the same colour family as my gold coloured accessories, you can cut down on the bling and wear contrasting shoes such as nice black pumps for example to complete your look. Just ensure that there aren’t too many colours going on in your ensemble.

Considering that we are currently in the midst of monsoon, it’s best to let go of your heat appliances and to style your hair naturally. Use a good de-frizzer or a nice holding product (a light hair mousse) on your hair to ensure that it stays within control during the season.

You can even take your look up a notch by wearing slightly bold make up. I preferred to keep my look more ‘early morning’ by using a light pink lipstick. You can choose to wear a bolder colour of lipstick such as a yummy shade of red to really spice up the look!

Lastly, just ensure that your clothes aren’t see through during the rainy season 😛

Here are some images of how I styled my look. Details of the outfit are right below the images –
