Keeping it simple has always been my motto when it comes to getting dressed. Whether it’s the outfit or the accessories to accompany it, I prefer things that speak for themselves. A beautiful silhouette that compliments my curves is all I need to make my outfit complete. I know I’ve mentioned all this and much more in my previous post about Gulaal Creations, so I am going to take this opportunity to explore the versatility that is inherent to each outfit that comes out of this brand.

A new season calls for a new collection packed with a brand new vibe. Keeping that in mind, it’s raining ‘Ikats’ at Gulaal this time with a hint of their classic designs. What I really admire about each and every outfit from Gulaal is that despite all the new ideas that are visible in their different collections, the inherent qualities that make Gulaal what it is today, such as the premier quality of the fabric, the vibrancy of colours, the comfort I feel upon wearing one of their outfits, has remained unchanged and unparalleled. Being strongly of the opinion that the feel of the fabric is more important than the look of it, Gulaal specialises in fusing Indian fabrics (cotton) and prints with a western flavour. Each one of their outfits is complimentary to all body types and more than that, I would go to the extent of saying that each outfit is flattering to all body types.

I write this particular post to emphasise upon the versatility of the outfits and to showcase that, I styled two outfits from Gulaal’s latest collection in two different ways. The first look is my take on casual dressing for the festive season (something you would wear on the days preceding Diwali, for example, when you’re stepping out for some shopping) and the other look is more of an everyday outfit with a chilled out vibe to it.

Take a look below to see how I’ve styled my two looks –

Look 1

Keeping it festive!

For this one, I felt that a mix of bold colours and some Indian jewellery should do the trick. I’ve been trying on various fusion combinations such as this one during this festive season. I love cotton dresses and they make me feel good about my growing body even when I’m stuffing my face with nuts and sweets around Diwali. Some flowers in my hair, red lips, gold jewellery and juttis were my go-to for this look. Oh, and don’t miss the clutch!

Look 2

Everyday Casuals!

Sneakers are my go- to shoes for everyday wear all this year and well, they have been the biggest shoe trend all year long! A pair of nerdy glasses, a classic watch and a cute little clutch bag were all I needed to add a little zing to this outfit.
