We all have days when we’re just looking to dress smart without putting in too much thought on which colour goes with what or which outfit makes us look thinner. For me, those days are more like – I want something reliable and comfy – hence I pick out something in my favourite colour, Black. Black, in my opinion is probably the best colour (or lack of colour) to pick when you’re dressing up. Not only does it have the power to make a person look slim but I personally feel it has a little – ‘I don’t care, I look good all the time’ attitude going with it.

You know most people would think its boring to wear all black, but reserve the attitude you guys. You have no idea about the power of Black. Just because your outfit is monochromatic, it doesn’t mean that you are lazy, boring or even depressed. There are so many ways to make your ‘All Black Outfit’ look super chic and pulled together –

  • Vary the fabrics of each part of your outfit. Make sure that your top and your bottom are made of different fabrics to get rid of the monotony of black. Nothing looks worse than an ‘All Black Outfit’ in the same fabric.
  • Accessorise! Accessorise! Accessorise! Even if you want to keep it minimal. Don’t hold back ladies. Throw in a string of pearls if you’re keeping it classy or an edgy necklace if thats your style. Get a statement bag to carry around or a nice silk scarf but just find your style.
  • Add some glam to your look with your make up. Since your outfit is all black, play around with your make up. Wear a bright red lipstick if you feel or wear some glitter on your eyes. It’s your game to play!
  • Since black has the power to make anyone look slimmer, use that to your advantage. Invest in  a cute black peplum top or a pair of well fitted black culottes, whatever fits your style and play with such pieces. You can add a cute belt to cinch your waist and make your black outfit even more flattering than it naturally is!

When I was getting dressed for this post, I was in the mood for something relaxed yet stylish. So take a look at my ‘All Black Outfit’ below-
