Hey you guys!

So it’s been literally a week since my last fashion post and I promise you guys that I will try to post more often. It’s just that work has increased a lot! Who knew that being a freelancer can take such a toll on your free time :(.

From recording videos on POPxo to sourcing apparel and gear for upcoming shoots and then finally shooting, I usually loose track of time. But I’ve started to love this life. It can be so much fun when you have the ability to create beautiful concepts and to share them with your readers. I really wouldn’t have had this any other way.

Also, I hope you’ve seen my video on POPxo :D. I’ll be coming up with more such interesting beauty videos on their channel so do keep watching them!

For this post, I really wanted to do something with a minimal budget. Just to show you guys that you can literally work with anything that you have at home. There’s no need to spend a tonne of money just to look good! Just for that reason, I decided to raid my dad’s closet and wear his sweater for this shoot! Ladies, if you too are into oversized and stylish dressing, then look no further than your dad’s/brother’s/ boyfriend’s/husband’s closet. Get hold of a nice sweater that fits him well and simply wear it as an oversized sweater. I took my dad’s sleeveless sweater in this case. You can pair it with pants or even a nice skirt – skater/ maxi/ midi whatever you like. The best thing to do though would be to belt it around the waist just to add some definition and to raise the bar a bit. I mean the point is to look comfortable but dressed up at the same time. Don’t want to look like a sack now, do we?

What I really wanted to bring out in this look was the faux fur I’m wearing. It was a gift from my uncle and I really wanted to style it well without making it look heavily piled up. Since we don’t really face that kind of weather where we would need such clothes, I decided to simply place it around my neck like a stole and belt it. What you can also do is wear it longer on one side as opposed to the same length on both sides like I’ve worn it. You can choose to belt it similarly if you’d like!

                                                                                                     Makeup

For this look I wanted to do a dark smoky look with my eyes and keep the lips lightly coloured. When you’re doing a smoky look, make sure that the rest of your face looks clean and evenly coloured. Minimal contouring was the key.

I simply applied primer on my eyes to ensure that the colour stays. Post that I applied multiple layers of black eye shadow on my eyes. You can use a cue tip dipped in make up remover to clean off the excess eye shadow that spreads around your eyes. Line your upper eyelids with a layer of eyeliner and smudge it a bit to add to the smokiness. Line the waterline with kajal and lower eyelid with some black eyeliner as well. Add tonnes of black mascara and you’ve got beautiful attractive eyes to go!

I kept my lips a light colour so as to keep my eyes the focus of the look.

Hope you guys enjoy the look below –
