Decoding Distressed Denim
Hey you guys!
Thank you for the overwhelming response to my first fashion post!
It was great to hear your beautiful thoughts so I’ve planned a whole bunch of interesting ones for you guys! But don’t worry, I’m still writing about beauty and I promise you that the next post is going to be on that.
Since winter is ‘almost’ over (note that I say ‘almost’ since it’s still February and it feels really weird to claim that we’re facing the spring season already), I’ve got a lot of interesting spring season outfits planned but before posting about all of that, I wanted to show you a little something I tried out with distressed denim.
It’s been a rage for a while now and yes I’ve heard a lot of ladies coming into Zara and asking for ‘phatti hui’ or torn jeans. My pair is from Zara as well cause thats the only place that managed to make my slightly larger butt look normal sized in a pair of boyfriend jeans.
As you can see from the pictures, this is a very casual look that I played with. Something that you can wear while you go out to the mall or even a meal with your girlfriends. I wore my look to college though and yes, I DO wear heels to college. It’s my current obsession. I’ve always loved pumps and I feel they really uplift the entire outfit.
A statement necklace is always a good idea. It can totally be the hero in any plain outfit. Try pairing these with a plain and basic top to really make your overall attire stand out.
I tried playing around with my hair a bit as well.
Basically, the changing seasons do me no good and my wavy to curly hair assumes a life of its own. Since I’m restricting the use of heat based appliances on my hair, I decided to double braid it. I started by picking a section of my hair from the top and plaiting it till the end (plait it till the end if you have layers and mid way if you have a hair of the same length). Simply make this plait a part of other one that you can start from mid way down. You can add it to one of the three parts that you divide your hair into for braiding or you can try fancier styles such as a fishtail braid!
Anyway, I just wanted to share a casual post with you guys. Hope you enjoy reading this!
