Celebrating Fall With Slip Dresses

When I think of fall, I usually associate it with falling leavings, multiple cups of pumpkin spice latte from Starbucks and enjoying the slight nip in the air after a long summer! I get really excited around this time of the year. Perfect weather coupled with the ‘n’ number of festivals marking our calendars, need I say more?

So while I was lounging around in my local Starbucks with a copy of the latest issue of Elle magazine, I came across this particular article according to which the 90’s slip dress has become an absolute favourite at the Fall runways across the world. After I read this, I knew I wanted to shoot my version of the slip dress look and share it on my blog.

I’ve always been a fan of the slip dress and I adore how it hugs my curves in just the right places. For this look, however, I picked a slip dress with an empirical waist and styled it with a white button down shirt. Although cotton is the most appropriate fabric for our version of fall season, if you want to go outright wintery with it, I would suggest a nice plaid wool slip dress with a cute knit sweater and some ankle boots with socks. Since my dress has a ethnic look to it, I decided to pair it with traditional Indian jewellery and slip ons to match. Last, but not the least, a swipe of Ruby woo on my lips was enough to complete my look. Oh and for those who noticed the difference, I’m wearing hair extensions from Diva Divine in my pictures! I’m in love with these and I can’t help but admire how long my hair looks with them on.

Take a look below to see how I styled my outfit –
